Biography
Goutham Vincent is a music director and composer born in the serene district of Kottayam, Kerala.
Blessed with the prayers and guidance of various teachers, Goutham learnt Carnatic Music apart from academics. As his interest grew with the swaras and ragas, he decided to learn the Piano and Guitar. He also self-taught himself on drums and other percussion instruments during his school days in Nigeria. His talent brought him laurels at various competitions at school and Musical Society of Nigeria.
Music occupied a vital part in his life at a very young age. Goutham completed his early days of schooling (till Grade 3) at Holy Cross Vidhya Sadhan, Thellakom, Kottayam. Later, he continued his studies till Grade 10 at Indian Language School, Lagos, Nigeria. He pursued his higher secondary education in Kuriakose Elias English Medium School, Mannanam. He did his Bachelors Degree In Commerce from Mar Gregorios College, Punnapra, affiliated to Kerala University. However, despite the geographies he travelled, music followed along.
After completing his Bachelors, Goutham moved to Chennai to study Music Production at MusikPort, Chennai under the guidance of his mentor, Hentry Kuruvila, Programmer of AR Rahman. He is currently pursuing Russian Piano Studio course at AR Rahman’s institute, KM Music Conservatory, Chennai.
GOUTHAM‘S JOURNEY AS A MUSICIAN
Goutham‘s journey as a musician began from the KCA Church Choir in Lagos, Nigeria. He then joined the Indian Language school band named The ILS Band, Lagos. He was a leading member in The Radio Active band, Lagos that performed at secular events in Nigeria. He also performed at many churches and prayer meetings. He was also the keyboardist at Kerala Samajam Orchestra, Nigeria and performed with the team for 5 years. Later, Goutham moved to Kerala and created a band called BGM Band which performed shows across the length and breadth of Kerala. Later, Goutham started composing singles and albums. When he was 18, he released his first Album, Arpitham, a Christian devotional compilation consisting of 12 songs which were sung by playback singers Vidhu Prathap, Gayathri Ashokan, Daleema, and so on.
One of Goutham‘s latest tracks, ‘Onam Vannee’ sung by playback-singer KS Harisankar was a hit during Onam 2020. It was written by Goutham‘s mother, Josima Shaji. ‘Nidhraye Punarnittum’ song sung by playback singers Vidhu Prathap and Lakshmi Pradeep was another hit in 2020. Other prominent compositions were the Signature Songs for the 65th and 66th Nehru Trophy Boat Race named as JALAKELI 2017 & AARPOO 2018 respectively. Both of them were written by the renowned Malayalam lyricist Vayalar Sarath Chandra Varma and sung by playback singers Alphons Joseph & MG Sreekumar respectively. He has composed music for several other music albums featuring Playback Singers Vijay Yesudas, K.S. Harisankar, Nithya Mammen, etc
In 2021, Goutham won the title best music director award in the music direction competition held by the Cultural department of the Government of Kerala along with the Corporation of Thiruvananthapuram.
Being one among the ten winners of 99 songs Cover Star Competition Launched by the Legend A R Rahman added a golden feather to Goutham’s Cap in 2021.
Goutham has also done several musical projects for the district administration of Alappuzha. His notable work, ‘Sing For Kerala’, initiated by V R Krishnateja IAS for the flood-affected Alappuzha by providing entertainment through his Band Performance for the Survival Camp Residents free of cost. He again joined with VR Krishnateja IAS, the then Sub Collector of Alappuzha, in a project called, I AM FOR ALLEPPEY and composed a theme song which was released by Dr TM Thomas Isaac ( The Finance Minister of Kerala ) on his Official Facebook Page.

Goutham has been performing in many events and shows inside Kerala, other states in India and abroad as well. Goutham performs on Keyboard, Keytar and Melodica.
